In my paintings I refer to the photographic image and its appearance: the smooth surface and the fragmentary cuts. The choice not to lean on an authentic handwriting with clean lines and surfaces gives my work the same distance as the picture has.  I reveal hidden forms by zooming in on the subject and in this way provide abstraction to figuration without putting a central experience first.

The use of photos helps to truthfully reflect the subjects without giving preference to a certain subject. The process of searching for the right photo for my paintings is in line with the spirit of today for many painters.

“What much more important to me is the attempt, the desire to show what i want, in the best way possible. That’s why technique is usefull for me. For me, perfection is as important as the image itself”.
